Vantablack / I, Zombie
Thursday Aug 20, 2020
Thursday Aug 20, 2020
In this episode's off-topic section, Brett talks about the darkest man-made material ever, Vantablack. This super black color consisting of "vertically aligned nanotubules" (giving it the vanta moniker) ignited a small war in the art world and for good reason. Vantablack traps almost all light that strikes its surface leading to eerie visual illusions... and one artist has exclusive rights to use the effect artistically! Josh then continues to keep it dark with the graphic but fascinating book: I, Zombie by Hugh Howey. This is the kind of fresh take on a rotten subject we love to discuss.

It involves gun-shooting, axe-wielding, and improperly directed rage towards alleged trespassing so you know... Texas stuff. Brett then slips some sweatbands over his tiny wrists in preparation for a battle. What is he fighting this time? Evil Exes? Demon hipster chicks? HIMSELF?? Yes. Get ready for our episode on the movie flop turned cult classic: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Onewheel / The Purge (TV Season 2)
Thursday Aug 06, 2020
Thursday Aug 06, 2020
In this episode's off-topic section, Brett talks about his even newer favorite action sport. (Sorry birdwatching, you've just been knocked down to second place.) You have seen the ads. Maybe even seen someone zooming by on one in person... but according to Brett, it is impossible to predict how fun the Onewheel is until you step on one and feel the "floating" sensation á la Back to the Future II. Speaking of the second installment of things, Josh covers The Purge. No, not the movie. The TV Series. But just that one season. No, not season one. That one second season that's so good. "Floating" on just one wheel and recommendations for only the second season? It's 2020 bitches, there are no rules. Just like Purge night.

Interview with Rusty Lewis: Skydiving with Tom Cruise for Mission Impossible
Thursday Jun 25, 2020
Thursday Jun 25, 2020
On this special episode of The Content Clearinghouse, Brett and Josh have a conversation with their friend and former boss, Rusty Lewis about a stunt he performed for Mission: Impossible - Fallout. Rusty is a world-renowned skydiver who has competed in several disciplines and was instrumental in establishing the International Bodyflight Association, the governing body for wind tunnel instructors worldwide. Rusty trained us both at the indoor skydiving facility that brought the two of us together. During his downtime between that gig and his other day job as a Captain for Frontier Airlines, he has several other hobbies, such as performing as Henry Cavill's stunt double for the HALO jump in the spy thrilled MI:6 with Tom Cruise. (After training Tom personally in the wind tunnel and the sky.) Rusty, you rad. Editor's note: We had to delay the start of our interview by a few minutes so Rusty could make a cup of tea.
